I See, Suns

Intro

Once upon a time, a long time ago, there lived an old lady called Moon and her daughter, Star. Moon was getting very old so she asked her youngest sister, Mary, to care for her child, Star. Star was only a baby when Moon was taken to the hospital. With her very last strength, Moon foretold this prophecy,

“One day, the star that gives us light will fall to the ground and perish. But a special one will be granted a gift from the rulers of the universe that will save us all.”

This was the start of a great adventure.

Moon took a deep breath and died. The years trudged by slowly with Moon gone. But on Star’s 13th birthday, Star woke up to complete darkness. The only light in her room was the small oil lamp by her bed. She got out of her bed and went downstairs to see where her Aunt was. Aunt Mary had lit some candles all around the room, but it was still very eery. When Aunt Mary saw Star come into the living room she ran and hugged her. Aunt Mary said, “Star! Your mother was right the star that gave us light has fallen down! Star took one of the candles and went outside to see what happened. Her aunt was right, the star that gave them light had fallen down and there was total darkness all around. Star didn’t remember her mother very well so she went inside and asked Aunt Mary to tell her the story again. It took a long time to tell the story, but in the end Star set out to the Palace of the rulers of the universe for she knew no one else would dare. She packed food, water, clothing and anything else she needed for a week. She knew it wouldn’t be

enough but she thought that she might find Safety early. But 4 weeks later, Star found herself in the desert making her way to the Palace.

Halfway there she heard a sound coming from underneath her feet. Star stopped. She was very frightened and she didn’t know what to do. She said,

“What are you and what do you want with me!”

The rumbling underneath her feet grew louder. Suddenly a beast with the head of the snake the body of a lion and the tail a dragon crawled out of the ground.

“All I want is my dinner sweetheart,” the Beast said.

The Beast gave Star the creeps.

“I am not your sweetheart!” Star said.

Star turned and ran. She ran as fast as she could. As far away from the Beast as possible. Whenever she turned around the Beast was only a few feet away from her. Suddenly, Star seemed to go faster, Faster than she had ever gone before. She ran away from the beast and hid in the forest. The forest elves there helped her for a while but then they grew tired of the human and kicked her out. Star wandered through the forest all day into the night and around 1 am, Star found a nice little cave with moss all over the floor. She lay down and instantly fell asleep. The next morning she woke up. When she reached up and touched her face there was some sticky mixture on it. She opened her eyes to see a lion standing over her. To her left she saw 5 little baby lions that were so cute Star couldn’t take her eyes off them. The mother lion bit Stars t-shirt and dragged her over to the mouth of the cave. Star got up although her leg was feeling very weak for the mother lion had trodden all over it. The mother lion growled. Star jumped up and ran. She ran as fast as she could. Why was there no safe place in this land anymore?! She ran for 3 hours and then realized she was in the middle of the Forest. Suddenly, she noticed the trees were cherry trees and that there was a small cottage with smoke coming out of the chimney in the distance. She hoped there was a nice human living in that Cottage. So, she ran up to the door and knocked. An old woman opened the door.

“Come in! Come in deary!” the old woman said.

So Star went in. The Woman fed her English muffins and cherry pies. But, Star saw a finger poking out of the closet. So, when the old woman left the room, Star went over to the closet and opened it. Out came 5 little kids with cherry and Pie crumbles around their lips. They had eaten in the cherry pies. The pies were poisonous! The woman wasn’t an old woman she was a witch! Star got up and ran away from the cottage this fast she could. she ran and ran and ran until she was out of the forest.

This was enough terrors for one day. So, Star sat down right there at the last tree of the forest so she could rest. She must have hit her head because she was out cold until two days later.

When Star woke up, she was surrounded by trees. She remembered going to sleep at the edge of the forest. Why was was she in the middle of it? Star got up and looked around. It was nighttime and the trees looked alive. When she turned her head to the left she could see two yellow eyes gleaming out from a nuthole in the tree. All Star moved the yellow eyes seemed to follow her. Watching her every move. The lamp Star had been holding had gone out. She ate the last of her food and drank the last of the water and set out once more for the Palace of the rulers of the universe. This took three more days. Finally she saw something gold gleaming in the distance. It was the Palace! As star walked closer she saw there was something guarding the palace though. It was a guard dog. But not just any guard dog, It was a dog she had

heard from many different stories. She wondered to herself,

“Is Cerberus fis name?” He had Three Dog heads, the tail of a serpent, and various snakes bursting out from random parts of his body. It was quite creepy because she never thought he was real..

Start didn’t know how to get past him. She had no more food or water left, and anyway she didn’t know this dog. He was said to guard the underworld. But this was the palace! How could Cerberus be guarding this? That question would not soon be answered. As Star neared the palace, the creepy dog moved away from the entrance. He seemed to sense something, Something no one else could sense. Around noon, and feeling really hungry, she finally entered the palace. As she walked into the main hall, the rulers of the universe greeted her with really happy delights such as food and drinks. Star forgot about all of her troubles as she danced all night long. But she soon remembered. She went up to the first ruler And asked, “Excuse me sir, but do you think you could help me? I need to get some light for my city back home. The star that once shone has fallen down from the sky

Will you help me sir?”

And the ruler answered,

“Of course young girl! Come by the ballroom after the feast so we can all talk together!”

Later that Day, star went over to the ballroom. All three rulers sat on their Thrones waiting for her. As she walked up to them, she bowed. Star explained her story to the rulers and they all seemed starstruck by the power of her story. Because of this, they offered to give her one thing. It could be anything she wanted. she chose this

“I will take whatever is needed to help my village. I nearly died getting here, i might die on the way back but I will do what it takes to save my village.”

They gave Star a star medallion. They said,

“ Open this when you get back to your village, it will bring you all good fortune.”

They also gave Star a carriage – A magic Carriage that would bring her home instantly. Star stepped in and the carriage disappeared with her inside.

When Star got home, the people rejoiced with her for she had brought then a new star. A better star. Star named that star,

“Sun”. sun rose high in the sky and brought them a new day and a new night. It was beautiful.

Star’s Diary

Nowadays, this all seems like years ago. I am married and have a son, Sun. But, the children of my village always like a good story. So, I told them a story. This story. They all are still fascinated at the thought of their friend saving them all. I personally, am just happy to be alive.
