As an important cultural, scientific, and training center of the region, with training locations in Pécs and Szekszárd, the faculty is permanently improving and developing its educational programs that meet the needs of students and the social and economic challenges. The faculty is also developing unique education programs (e-learning, Senior Academy), involving new target groups and contributes to the assistance of talented people, re-training of professionals, education of adults, and also plays an active role in local and international research activities. The faculty trains kindergartenteacher and primary school teacher. The faculty also offers a wide variety of study programmes in the field of continuing and further education.

PTE Illyés Gyula Training Primary School, Primary Art School and Training Kindergarden

Our school is situated in Szekszárd, the capital of Tolna county. We have pupils between 3 and 14. In the kindergarden there are 125 children in 6 groups, in the school there are nearly 600 pupils in 24 classes. We also use to work with students.

As the biggest school in Szekszárd we are also a „Great Talentpoint”. We have 25 classrooms, 2 language rooms, an IT room, an art room and a library which can serve the high-quality education. Our gym is well-equipped and the school is surranded with a sports field and playgrounds. Health education and environmental protection play an important role in our lives. Two languages –English, German – are taught from the first class.

Illyés Gyula Institute of Education

Boronkai, Dóra is associate professor and head of department at University of Pecs Faculty of Cultural Science, Education and Regional Development. She has a PhD (2009) and habilitation (2015) in linguistics.
Her main research interests are cognitive linguistics, conversation analysis, especially conversational strategies in infant and early childhood and language pedagogy (e. g. reading literacy, development of negotiation, communication and conflict management skills, CA and first-language teaching). She works as a columnist of the Journal of Hungarian Language Pedagogy since 2009.
She is the author of two books: Bevezetés a társalgáselemzésbe (Introduction to Conversation Analysis); A dialógus szövegtani jellemzői (The Textual Features of the Dialogue), and published over 50 articles and conference papers (see: Dóra Boronkai´s publications )

    Tancz Tünde is working since 1997 at the Illyés Gyula Institute of Education at the Faculty of Cultural Science, Education and Regional Development. Her main research interests are Methodic of the first language teaching and acquisition in the early childhood and childrenculture-literatur. She published more than 50 articles and conference papers (see: Tünde Tancz’s publications ).

      Klein, Agnes is associate professor and head of the Illyés Gyula Insitut of Education at University of Pecs Faculty of Cultural Science, Education and Regional Development. She has a PhD (2004) and habilitation (2014) in linguistics.
      Her main research interests are bilingualism in the early childhood, language-pedagogy (german as a second language int he kindergarten and int he primary school).
      She is the author of two books: Wege zur Zweisprachigkeit. (Way to bilingualism), A nyelvelsajátítástól a nyelvtanulásig. (From the language-acquisition to the language-learning) and published over 50 articles and conference papers.
